Motherhood, School, Photography, Holidays Ahh!

It has been quite some time since I have been able to sit down and just write. Well, Here I am! For those who don't know, back in the end of July 2015, I enrolled myself into school so I may pursue an A.S. Degree in Digital Photography!

I will admit between motherhood and school and small shoots here and there, it's been pretty busy and tiring. I will admit I am enjoying school though and so far it's going great.

I hope everyone has and is enjoying this Autumn season. The temperatures here in New York are working its way down to the colder (yikes)! In a way, I am looking forward to winter time, at least the first snow fall or two. I hope this year around I can take some beautiful landscapes of untouched snow. This year in the fall I was able to go to some different places that were very beautiful. Autumns always been my favorite season due to the beautiful foliage colors and crisper air. There is nothing more refreshing than seeing nature work in a cycle that works like a cleanse. I'll be honest though, I do miss seeing so many beautiful flowers.

Not that I'm a squirrel stalker like some of my friends think I am, I learned I do have a fascination with these little guys. I love watching them every day and feed them whole grain oats medley cheerios. I probably look like a crazy lady with a small zip lock bag with the cereal walking around but that's okay! I figured maybe I am helping them gather food for the winter. I haven't seen the chipmunk that lives around here in a while, So I hope to see them in the Spring.

I decided I wanted to expand my photography into something more. Right now I have been working on Fine Art photography but also stock photography. With this in mind, I decided to even expand my Etsy Shop to different categories creating one for Stock Photos. Stock Photos will be a digital download and would work great for many things such as websites, blogs, journals and more. I figured it's new to me and I'd like to try it. Thanks to a couple of great people who I met over the last few months has helped me a lot with their advise.

I should probably sign off soon, but I hope you all have a wonderful night and if you're looking for beautiful images for your walls at home or office or even as a gift, please feel free to stop by and say hello! I will be adding more to Etsy very soon!

I Love the Fall!

Honestly who doesn't? As much as a coffee addict I am, I love drinking some hot chocolate on a cooler day. I love seeing everyone's work with decorating and pumpkin carving. I'll admit though, I'm not a pumpkin spice kind of a person. I like the smell, but not that fond of the taste. (Sorry to my pumpkin fanatics out there).

Halloween is such a fun time. I love seeing people in costumes and just having fun. Last week, My we took my son pumpkin and apple picking and he was so dedicated to wear his pirate costume we let him. One of the many things I love about my son is he likes to act out when he's dressed up. So of course he was saying things like "arghh".

My wonderful pirate at Kristy's Barn in Schodak, Ny

This child by the way, is a great apple picker. He chose a lot of very nice ones for us to bring home. It really was a great time.

What are some of your favorite things about Fall? I love watching the leaves transition into beautiful colors. My son loves playing in piles of leaves as well as many kids out there I bet do. I feel like Autumn is kind of like a "cleansing" season. Kind of get rid of the old, in with the new. I find it very refreshing.

The leaves are turning colors,
The air is getting chilly,
The pumpkins are being carved,
Kids are acting silly.

It's getting dark earlier,
People are decorating,
Buying these wonderful costumes,
Getting ready for some celebrating.

The spookyness is coming,
The creepyness is here,
To scare you off your feet,
So keep your loved ones near.

October 31st is coming,
We're only nine days in between,
Then we can wear our costumes,
and have fun on Halloween!

Big Day! I know it's been a while

Good morning everyone! I know it's been a while since I have written a blog post. I guess since April, Wow! Over these past few months, I have been pretty busy with things.

I started going to school online last month and am working on my AS in Digital Photography. I been learning so much more over these past few months, including shooting RAW which now is a very nice habit to have.

I have been trying some new things with my camera and I know it'll take some practice in getting it going but definitely exciting.

Today I am participating in my first ever vendor event locally selling some photography prints of 5x7s and 8x10's. I am so so nervous that I have not been sleeping very well.

I been having fun this summer with my son, I can't believe he will be going into 2nd grade in September! (Where did the time go?).

I been revamping my website little by little so feel free to check out how it's coming along! trishasphotography.com

This summer, I have been honored to see my best friend in a play called "Robin Hood and the Randsom" and her awesome brother in "Rent". They both were amazing!

So, Please wish me luck today! My anxiety has been very high lately and I am anxious but excited for this!

Stepping Ahead

So lately, I been having a few set backs, but a few forwards. Since we're not exactly having much of Spring weather yet, Any sessions I'd like to do have been on hold until we actually see the sun without the rain or snow flurries lol. So this is setting me back just a little.

It's alright though! Moving forward, I was able to purchase my portable backdrop holder. No backdrops yet, but I'm learning to take it slow. I still need to work on backdrops and lighting, but it's going to be just one thing at a time.

I  been working on reaching out to local businesses near where I live to see if I'd be able to possibly go there one day a week just for a couple of hours to try and sell some prints. So far, no yes's yet but i'm still hoping.

A couple days ago, I learned how to take the bus to the next town down which was fun. Once I got up, I ended up walking for a good two hours. Ended up visiting my brother and his girlfriend lol. (Was an adventureous moment).

I still am promoting my Etsy Shop, fixing a few oops and updating things from time to time. I'm hoping soon I will be able to add more to my shop. :)

Hoping that the spring weather (If it ever decides to come here) Will help me get out of this mini funk. Between the weather, and the cold, I'm doing what I can to make everything work, to try and plan things out. I worked hard and finally I have set prices to even be able to offer for photo sessions. I'm sure they'll probably change down the road as I am still learning but i'm going.   I have been working on my website (Yes again) to change up my portfolio and add the pricing to it. If you'd like to check it out you can anytime! trishasphotography.com

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful Spring break. Those who are with me on the icky weather lately, I hope we all can soon enough enjoy the beautiful sunshine and warmer weather! Thank You all <3

If you're interested in my Photography on products, Also feel free to check my other shop out on Zazzle. I also take personalization requests :) Have a blessed day!

Happy World Autism Awareness Day, Somethings I'd like to share more on personal level of my heart His

Today starts off the World Awareness Day as well as the whole month of April. First I'd love to give a huge shout out to all the parents/guardians of kids who are on the spectrum. You are doing A GREAT JOB. To All the individuals out there who are on the spectrum, adult or child, I just wanted to say you are all AMAZING individuals and I thank and every single one of you for being who you are.

I also want to give lots of blessings and credits to the Teachers, Aids, Therapists and services that has worked so hard with our children and adults. I personally wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't for my son's teachers and his team of professionals at his school that help him and guide him at school.

April may be an Autism month for many, but also for many, Autism Awareness is 365 days a year.

I know some of my friends and readers here know I have a wonderful son who has Autism. I don't normally bring him out on topic of Autism, but today, I really want to share with you how great he is and how much he amazes me, even through the struggles.

My Son Richy

My son was diagnosed when he was 4 yrs. old. I honestly never knew much about Autism until the day he visited a pediatric developmental specialist that was referred by his pediatrician.  At the age of 4, Majority of his verbal or communication was using only single words. If  he wanted something, He'd point.. and say it.  He could not read or write. He didn't really grasp comprehension on things like Holidays or events that may be going on. But you want to know something? He is one of the happiest little boys, I have ever seen.

He receives Speech and Occupational therapies along with a behavior intervention program in school and has been for the past few years now. He is almost 7 yrs old now and I am so so PROUD of him each and every single day.  He may not be able to write that well, but the fact he is progressing is amazing. His speech has grown. He now speaks up to 5 words in a single sentence. Instead of saying (for an example), Milk..    He'll say (Cup milk please). He says thank you's and welcomes. He says I'm sorry. He talks more. He can read site words now and he reads them very proudly. We still have our struggles, but we are progressing. He is a Happy Boy. We may not be able to hold a conversation. Like if I ask him how his day was at school, He is unable to conversate and tell me about his day, but I am staying positive, that one day he will. :)

He may have weak points, but everyone does. So let me share somethings he is great with. For starters, his memory. He can put a toy some where that it doesn't belong and leave it there for a week and still know where it is a week later. I have a hard time remembering in a single day where I placed something lol. He remembers words and songs on tv. Show him Toy Story 1,2 or 3 and he memorizes the sounds in them and when they happen lol.  Dancing and music, He LOVES LOVES to dance. He learns dance moves pretty quickly. He likes to use his mouth to make music beats. Even his teachers told me one of his greatest parts of school is Music class. He loves Flags probably more than any thing else.

Despite the things we work on, and things that may be a struggle, My son amazes me every day. He loves to give hugs, he shows concern for others. He has such a silly and loveable personality with a style of sense of humor. He loves making others laugh. He does some of the silliest things. He has always been such a happy boy. Sure we have off days, especially when things change in a routine, We have tantrums, we have meltdowns but I wouldn't trade him for the world because he is my world and I feel so blessed being his mommy.  His personality is who he is. Autism may be a part of him, but it doesn't justify who he is as a person.

Thank You all for who has read my sons story. Autism Awareness to me is about sharing Autism acceptance with others. Each individual with Autism are unique and different in their own ways. To those parents who live with Autism every day, I know it's not easy. I know it takes a lot but please know that everything you do for them, You are all super heroes and advocates! Pat yourself on the back and just remember... You all rock! Now.. Lets take this month and CELEBRATE how far we all have come!

Please enjoy my son's dancing video and I hope I have made many smile!

Is It Spring Yet?

Just so some of you may have a good laugh, Tomorrow is suppose to be the first day of Spring and apparently, we may be getting more snow. Now don't get me wrong, Snow is white, fluffy, pretty, but it's been some long cold months with a lot of it this year. I'm definitely ready for the warmer weather to come!

Warmer weather means more shoots, Hopefully I can start photo shoots for others. I need to get myself going one way or another business and career wise.

Last week, I was able to visit the boat launch for a bit which is in Rensselaer, New York though. The best part? It was at a  wonderful time in the evening where the sun was starting to set. I got a really nice silhouette shot done over Albany, New York which made me very happy!

I'm definitely ready for the Spring though, I can't wait to go to places, and find more flowers. As I am exploring and learning more, I get more and more excited about new things. I'm still doing some photography classes online, and I really am learning so much more, especially when it comes to the creative side of Photography. This year, I want to not just do good, or great, but I want my work to be amazing and make people smile each day. I want people to see the beauty of all things, whether it's something living, or just a view of scenery. This planet has so many beautiful things about it, and I just want to go out and find them!

Not only that, but I want to help create memories. Memories for themselves, for their kids and loved ones. Memories and pictures are the only thing we have that we can keep in our hearts. I'm sorry to sound all mushy, but its very true.  Memories are the one thing that no one can take away from us and yes, I do try to capture that as much as I can.

That is why I try to make it always fun to shoot with me. I love natural emotions, natural people being them selves. If anyone knows me, and knows how I work, it's definitely my best friend Tricia Stuto. We have done a ton of photo shoots together. Cosplay, Portraits ect. and we have so much fun. Tricia is an amazing person with a huge personality that so many adore. We do weird things but have fun and I try to bring out the best emotions.

See why I can't wait until Spring? lol

I can't wait to see flowers blossom, Beautiful landscapes and just so much more this year!

I'm still trying to raise money so I can build my dream, my goal. I'd love to have my own local small business as I share the beauty with everyone. So here is a thumbs up to Spring hopefully coming soon! If you would like to help in any way, It would greatly be appreciated on so many levels. I still need to work on getting equipment so I can keep pursuing. I have a GoFundMe page along with my Etsy Shop which all profits from Etsy will help. :)

Thank You all for reading once again, and Thank you to everyone who has already helped contributing and sharing and showing so much support!

Congratulations To The Lucky Winner! Also, I'm counting down til Spring!

Hey everyone! First, I'd like to say a HUGE Congrats to the winner of my first 8x10 Give Away! Thank you all so much for playing, and don't worry, I will love to host another one soon!

The weather here has been so cold and snowy! You know it's bad when the wind chill brings it to a -25 feel. Just to cold! I have honestly been hibernating indoors lol.

I've been working more on my Etsy Shop to try to help get some sort of sales, and of course, I wanted to try something new. I decided to make handmade bookmarks and add them in. I'm hoping to make sales with Etsy to still help save and make money to help us build a local business from the bottom up.

For those who have helped by sharing and visiting, I'd like to say thank you so much! We are hoping the increase will bring us some sales. I'll always stay positive.

I've always been working on using my own work to design on products while also learning how to do some digital art. ( I'm proud of my camera I created digitally lol).

Disney's Frozen

Between Etsy, Working on Zazzle, Writing and being a Mom, It's been rough lol. I can't wait for the Spring time so I can enjoy my love of taking pictures of pretty flowers in the bloom and scenery with the warmth of the sun.

On a personal level, My 6 yr. year old son has lost a bottom tooth today! The best part is, the one right next to it is also very wiggly, so anytime soon it will be two teeth lost!

Anywho since it's getting late. I hope you guys stop in and say Hello and take a peek in either my Etsy, Zazzle or our regular website. Hope you all have such a lovely evening!
